Hello Everyone! Creating for Valentines Day is so much fun. I am always inspired by the show Alice in Wonderland. When I think of Valentine's Day that show always pops in my head. It must be the part about the Queen of Hearts. Here are 3 new pieces I just created for Spookytimejingles website. They will be available for sale from Jan.13 to Feb. 13.

All have been hand sculpted out of papier mache. I tried something new and different this year when it comes to creating my figures. I decided to add more of a face to them. I think it is one step forward into becoming more of a well rounded artist.

The first figure is King of Valentine's Day. He loves to spread love to all. Second is Little Prince Huey. He is not happy. He is so sad about his relationship. I think his love found love from someone else and it must of gone so wrong. He is holding a sign that says, "Off with his Head" and Thirdly I have created Hardy. He is so distrote with his love life. He has sent out 3 different love letters and all were sent back. He is dying from a broken heart. He is holding 3 papier mache letters in one hand.

Kelly's Christmas Decorations

This picture sets the tone for what you about to see past through these doors! It's a Christmas Whimsical Wonderland!

I love this Garland!!!

This is the first thing you see when you pass through the doors. This is her main entry. The touch of whimsy just makes me smile. My twin sister and are have very similar taste. But when it comes to decorating our homes for the holidays, it is very interesting to see how different we represent the holiday in our own flair. She has always had a touch for the dramatic. Which is what I love. The colors! Hot pink, lime green, red and any other bright color she can throw in there. She just has that magical touch in my opinion.

Her master bedroom!

The glistening silver, the vintage ornaments and the soft palettes just works in here so well.

She has been collecting vintage Christmas orni's for a few years now. I think they look beautiful on this tree!

This is a spot in her kitchen. I see a few things that I made. The papier mache house and the plate.

Here is a picture of the dining room. All decked out for the Holidays! She has very tall ceilings in this room. So decorating the chandelier is a must in my opinion.

Greenery and balls, what more do you need!

This is a piece of furniture she has in her dining room. Once again a touch of whimsical.

No place, no corner forgotten. Her kitchen is a great place for a few Santa collectibles and a cookies jar full of Christmas cookies!

The breakfast nook!

You don't have to have the normal center piece on your kitchen table. Do what Kelly did and add a hurricane vase of limes and cranberries. How simple but oh so perfect in this spot.

More vintage balls, a great place for those Christmas cards and a few favorite Holiday photo's of the kiddo's!

She even added that special touch of hers to the bar area!

The crowning glory!

I see sugar plums dancing in my head when I see this. Color, Color, Color! I love the two toned garland. The lime green just adds that extra touch! The glass trees add that even balance to the already decorated mantle.

The Family Tree!

Whether it's store bought ornament you have been collecting for years or the ornaments that your kids had made the past few years, there is nothing like the family tree. Everyone's is oh so different but yet so wonderfully adorned!

Great job Sis! I just wish I could see it in person!!

My new computer!

Well I was about to give up on my new computer. I bought it from Best Buy. I had them set it up for me so it would be ready to use when I brought it home. It took them over 7 hours. They said they were having some problems with it. Well anyway I got it home and plugged it in. I was so excited to use it that night. I had made some new items and I wasn't able to list them on my old computer. But I thought yeah this is my chance now. Well at least you would think so. My brand new computer wasn't working!!! I didn't know what was wrong. It was moving so slow just like my old one. I knew I couldn't have any viruses on it. It was new! Well I was on the the phone with Best Buy telling them of my problems and they told me to bring it back and they would look at it. I thought great another 7 hours. I did call my cable company however. I thought maybe they should check it out as well. I had them come out last night at take a peek. Sure enough it was my modem. That's all it was. It is perfect now. Moves so fast! Yeah! Finally! But now I was thinking, hey, maybe my other one wasn't broken all year it was just the modem all this time. Great! Oh well! I love my new computer anyway!

Had to bite the Bullet!!!

Well I had to bite the bullet and buy a new computer yesterday. My old computer was giving me so many problems these past few months. But now the problems has been solved and I have a new computer. Hopefully this will make things much easier.

What I did over the Holiday weekend!

O.k. here it goes! A well over due post. All day Saturday and Sunday, while sitting on the deck in the hot sun, I did something that I haven't done in years. Read a book. I use to do all the time when I lived in PA but since I moved to Ohio I have always seemed to find other things to do. I forgot how much I love to read. This book was given to me by my mother. She thought I would like it and I did. It's one of those kind of books you can't put down. Always wondering what is going to happened on the next page you turn over.

Monday the hubby and I went to a town not to far from where I live. "Chargin Falls". People have been telling me that I need to make a trip out there and check it out. Well I have lived in Ohio for 5 years now and I just never really found the time to go. But better late than never I say. This weekend they had the Blossom Festival. We seem to of missed all the excitement from that though. It looks like they had finished all the festivities over the weekend. But when we went there on Monday you would not of thought so. The place was so crowded with on lookers like me. I have to say I wish I would of experienced this town a little sooner. It is so cute. I love all the older homes and the downtown area. If you like shopping then this is the place for you. Lots of upscale gift shops and tons of fancy boutique shopping. There are several small restaurants that you can stop and have lunch or dinner. Here are two business cards I pick up from some stores I liked. These are just two.

This store was one of my favorites. Their clothes were so cute. I didn't get to hit all the clothing boutiques yesterday. But next time I will for sure. Great prices at this store. If you are looking for something really unique and different, then buy clothing from a store like this one. You wont see yourself coming and going like you would if you buy something from lets say, "American Eagle".

Here is a menu I picked up from Rick's Cafe. The menu looks great but they weren't open for lunch yesterday.

I would have to say the biggest attraction for this town would have to be the beautiful waterfall. Hence why the town is called,"Chagrin Falls". Why is it that people are fascinated by waterfalls. I think it a combination of things. I love the sound it makes.

This is a restaurant that over looks the Falls. When my sisters come in October I will defiantly take them to this town and I will have dinner here. Check out the outdoor bar. The fireplace and seating area look so inviting. I can see myself sitting there with a cocktail in hand visiting with the sisters!

Check out this picture of a man feeding the geese with his son. I couldn't believe how close he got to them. They really seem to have no fear of people. Look out if you don't have anything to offer, you might be lunch for them.

I love this picture of all the bikes. One thing I wish I had was a Harley. My hubby use to have one but he sold it before we met. Maybe again someday.

This popcorn shop is a local hangout. Several people say that you must check this place out.

Last but not least to finish the trip. We were driving back home when I looked out the window and saw this Momma Dear and her little baby wading in the creek. It was such a site. Something you don't just see everyday.

Overall what a great weekend. Got to spend some quality time with Chuck and visited a new local town spot. A place I am dying to go back!

Having a son in the Military, this movie really touched me. If you don't have a relative or know of one that has served or is serving now, this is a must see film. It truly gave me the Ugly cry as Oprah says. I hope I never have to experience this. Thank you to all the men and women serving in the military and all their sacrifices. I think I can speak for all that we love what you are all doing for our country.

Hello everyone! I have to apologize for not posting as much as I use to. I have been so busy with my real jobs that I have had a difficult time getting to the computer and posting topics on my blog.

I work 3 days a week and try to craft in between that time. I don't know where all the time goes anymore. It seems like I am working full time lately. I have had a difficult time managing my time during the day. I hope to start on Easter creations this week. I have a special order to do for a customer first and then I hope to get some items in my Etsy store and on Ebay. But my time is so limited these days.

Saying Goodbye to SpookyTimeJingle!!

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to give you all a little update. I will no longer be selling my Art on SpookyTimeJingle site. But I will continue to sell my items on Ebay and Etsy. With all the working I have been doing outside of crafting, it has become very difficult to keep up with the deadlines. I can't believe that Christmas has come and gone so quickly this year. I enjoyed the holidays so much. It was so wonderful having the kids home and getting a chance to chat with my new daughter-in-law. I was glad to take a few days off from crafting but I have to admit I truly couldn't wait to get back. It is in my blood. I just can't get away from it. There are times when I am so overwhelmed and there are times when I just can't get enough.

Valentines is such a sweet holiday! I love the thought of having a

Which of course got me to thinking about making a bunch of sweet cakes, cup cakes, sundaes, candy's and more. I also love all the color! Pink! Red! Gold!

I just had to share this with you all. I have a regular customer that has purchased some ornaments off me this Christmas season. She sent me an email the other day letting me know that her sweet little puppy dog got a hold of one of my Christmas ornaments that she bought off of me this past month. Well I was a little curious which one she got a hold of. Well all I can say is "Lucie" is so smart. How could she of known what kind of ornament she decided to have for the lunch that day. I can only imagine how her mom must of felt. But take a look at that face. How could you get made at something that looks as adorable as her. I am also enclosing a picture of what she decided to do to the orni. I think she was trying to satisfy her sweet tooth. The ornament was "Chocolate Kiss Head".

Oh Lucie! I just want to give you a big kiss. Don't forget, "Stay away from Mommy's Tree"!

The Teddy Bear is waiting for a home. This one would be a great one to give to someone for "Babies First Christmas" or some one that is a Teddy Bear Collector. He is still available on SpookyTimeJingle.

I hope to get these orni's up for sale this week on Ebay. Hopefully everyone will be ready for this batch. But in the mean time I will be busy working on special orders for some customers. I hope to maybe get one item done in between that time. But well will have to wait and see.

Move over Halloween~Here comes Christmas!

So sad to say that all the Halloween items have been tucked away. Stop over at my Halloween Blog and you can see them laid to rest. Most of you might know about the Halloween Orni's that I make. Well this year I decided to make some Christmas ones this year. These are a few that I worked on last week. I hope to list them next week. But not sure where! They aren't quit finished though. Each needs something to hold and only a few do at this time. I am working on those right now.

Good Morning Everyone! It has been awhile since my last post. I was so busy this year with Halloween I decided to take a little break. So your wondering what I have been up to, here it is. This is my lastest creation for the Christmas season of 2008. Santa with a bag full of toys.

Just below you can see what it looks like before I add all the paint and detailing. I decided not to add the star. It just didn't work for me. Instead I added some sleigh bells.
There is a little doll, a hobby horse, a ball, candy cane and a Christmas wreath in his bag of goodies.

Good afternoon! Can you believe that it is only 23 more days till Halloween. It has creeped on me so fast. Since it is fastly approaching, I decided that I am listing my final batch of Halloween orni's for this year. I have had so much fun making all the different characters. I think Halloween really lets me explore my creativity. It sure doesn't help that it is my favorite Holiday.

Gourdy the Pumpkin Jailer~Papier Mache Halloween Figure

It's time for another Challenge piece from my Ebay group, "EHAG". Eclectic Halloween Artist Group is a group of very talented artist's that sell their Halloween Art on Ebay. Every once in awhile our group will throw a challenge our way. This challenge is called, "Creepy Confections". This is what I came up with for my entry.

GOURDY THE PUMPKIN JAILER
This is how the story goes:

Let me introduce Gourdy the Pumpkin Jailer. Gordy loves to make creepy Halloween candy. One day he heard a knock at his front door. He peeked out the side window and standing on the front step was two candy officers from Candy Land. He knew it was all over. Someone must of told on him that he was making creepy candy. The law takes this very serious. Creepy candy has been know to scare the children in the past. The community doesn't want any frightened children on Halloween night. So off he goes to jail. Notice the numbers on his shirt, "103108". That is to let everyone know what type of violation his is in for. "Misuse of candy making"! Gourdy wasn't sure how long he would be in the slammer. One thing for sure, he will not be around for Trick-or-Treat night. The law doesn't want to take any chances that Gourdy might go back to his old ways.

Halloween Display Boxes!

Do you ever see display boxes at gift shops and wonder what you could do with them. Well the possibilities are endless. These boxes are glass on all sides. I added some scrapbook paper to the back so that there would be somewhat of a background. Then just add your favorite Halloween collectibles. The bottle brush tree was a white tree that I bought at Christmas time and spray painted it black. I added some real moss and some pumpkins. The plots I just made but you can find them in Micheal's. Then your favorite Halloween figure.

This witch is all dressed up for the Cemetery Masquerade Ball.

Same thing goes here. Just add some trees, pumpkins, moss and then figures. There are no rules.

These guys are taking a tour through the cemetary in their pumpkin float.

I have this sitting on a higher table top with a lamp beside it. This way the lamp light shines through the side. It gives the idea of the moon shining through.

So try this. You will have fun making your own Halloween display case.

Am I confused or could it be April Fool's Day!

Wake me up someone, please, I think I am dreaming!!! My 21 year old son that is living at Fort Bragg just got married at the Justice of Peace today. O.k. are you all as confused as I am. I am still in shock and I can't quit figure the whole thing out myself. He just turned 21 years old this month. As a mother you always hope that you will get to see your kids get married in a big church with all your friends and family. My hubby is from a family of 8 brothers and sisters. So just his family alone would make for a great time at a wedding. I always say the more the merrier. Brendan is the type of kid that does what he wants. He has always been that way. Even when he was a little guy. We use to butt heads quit a bit. But never the less, I loved him so and was always there for him. He has been dating this girl for about a year. I just got the chance to meet her a few months ago. I remember telling Brendan how much I liked her. She is truly a sweet girl. I couldn't pick a better daughter-in-law if I tried. I know she will make a good wife and a wonderful mother. I am just a little sad that I didn't get a chance to be by their side when the big event happened today. I am still just bewildered by the whole thing. But that is Brendan. Always looking for the shock factor in everything. I will never forget the day he told me that he was joining the Army. I honestly thought he could never surprise me as much as he surprised me that day. Well he did it again. I just hope he is ready for marriage. I got married so young myself and it looks like he is following in his mothers footsteps. My first marriage unfortunately didn't work out. I truly didn't know who I was at 18/19 years of age. It's funny you know how they say history repeats itself. Well it happened!

I love you Brendan and I wish you and Susan the absolute best life. Be kind to each other and be each others best friend's. Don't forget to tell her everyday how much you love her and hug her each day. Always pick up after yourself and continue to open doors for her even now that you are married. Buy her flowers on those off day's. Not just on your anniversary or birthday. Women just want the simple things deep down. We don't want things, we just want love and respect. If you respect her she will do the same to you. Remember kindness, love and patients is a wonderful thing. Always be a giver and not a taker. You'll see it will come back to you twofold. The family unit is such an important thing. You are starting your own family now and you both have alot of responsibility coming in the future. Like paying bills, working, and eventually raising a family. Real life can be hard at times. Don't forget to pray when times get tough. Prayer can be a powerful thing. I love you both and wish you many many wonderful years together and the most happy life. Mom

Slowing things up a bit!

The last few weeks have been difficult for me. I have a problem with my neck. It's a chronic problem that has been going on for the past few weeks and even years. I went the to the physical therapist on Monday. She basically said my neck is a big fat mess. We went through an evaluation process. Once she was done, She gave me a list of stretching exercises to do. I will be doing all on a daily basis. I have been working none stop all year. It has been a great year for me. It's like when it rains it pours. Trust me I am not complaining. I love to be busy. It pains me so much that I will not be able to produce as much as I would like to. But I am some what of a workaholic. So neck pain and all, I will be doing as much as my body allows. I have 2 special order houses, 13 Halloween orni's for a customer, and the start of the Christmas season orders. Don't give up me. I will work on strengthening my neck so I will be in tip top shape for the Christmas season.

Hi Everyone I have been tagged once again. This time it is to show you all what kind of tools I use. Laurie Hardin was kind enough to tag me for this post. So here are a few that I use on a daily bases. Sorry they aren't so clean. I never really seem to find the time to stop and clean. EEK! A Spider

This morning I decided to start working kinda early. I went down into the dark scary basement where I craft. Things were going well and I am off to a good start. I was working on a SpookyTimeJingle piece when out of the corner of my eye I see something move. This something wasn't some little something. My fear would be that it is some big huge fuzzy spider. But I didn't quite get a good look at him. He managed to move quit quickly. Now my only concern is that I am down there all the time working. If it is a spider! OMG! It could be the mommy and there is a daddy and tons of kids! Help! I certainly don't want my fear to get the best of me. I have a huge phobia about spiders. I would much rather see, hold and play with a snake any day. But spiders! I think they are sneaky and gross.

I just need one more look at him! Please! Because in my mind this YOUTUBE video is what I think he looked like. But lets all hope not. I might not be able to work until he is dead and gone. I am off to go put some shoes on. Like that is really going to help. If he decides to crawl on me it's all over shoes or no shoes!!!!OMG! Gotta go I hear footsteps! You don't think that could be him do you! EEK!

My new Travertine!

Hi Guys! Well I just couldn't wait to show you all my brand new beautiful floor in my master bath. I am so pleased with the way it turned out.

We still have to add the grout! Maybe tomorrow!
This is where we started back in March! Down to the bare bones of the project. This is before we took everything down like the old plumbing and insulation. New plumbing, electrical, dry wall and really like it would be if you were building a brand new home. Hey you can even see the old ugly moldy carpet. We had a problem with shower leaking under the tub. That is the main reason why all this started. Next thing you know we decided to just go for a whole new look.
This is the view from the bedroom. You can see where the double sink vanity will go and we will have french door going into the bathroom.

This is a picture of the arch that I had my hubby put in. It really makes a statement in the bathroom I believe. That is something that really got us behind. My husband is somewhat of a perfectionist and he just wanted it to be perfect. So after several weeks and weeks of drywall compound, sanding, more compound and more sanding, I believe we are done with that. The mirror will go just above the vanity. I decided to go with a big mirror and have it cut the shape of the wall. I prefer a bigger one verses two smaller ones. I am going to put 2 lighted sconces in the mirror as well. It should give the bathroom that little bit of elegance. I was going to have my husband hang a petite chandelier right by the french doors that go into the bathroom. But that plan was changed. There wasn't enough clearance for the doors to swing into the bathroom if the chandelier was hanging.

I guess I told you all that we are coming to a close. To me it seems that way. But we still have the shower to tile. I asked my husband to lay the tile on the floor and put the vanity in first before I decided on what kind of tile for the shower. I thought I could get a better idea of what I wanted then. We still have the closet to design. We made it 2 feet bigger. That might not seem like much but I am sure ladies you would agree with me that you can never have enough space in your closet. So every little bit will help.

We will finish the bathroom with all white trim, the doors, baseboards and crown molding. I think if I can just have my bed back, my toilet, and my sink in my bathroom, then I will feel somewhat back to normal. I think that should be happening in a few weeks. My husband works full time (evening shift), so I am so thankful that he got done as much as he did just doing this on the side.

Time for an Update!

Good evening Everyone! It has been a little over a week since my last post. I have been extremely busy. Still working on the master bath and bedroom remodel. It seems like it was a lifetime ago when we began. But it is slowing coming to a close. We are in the middle of laying the tile down on the floor. It is turning out great. The wait was well worth it. I will post some pictures when we get a little further along. I am hoping the vanity will go in sometime this weekend or next. Keep your fingers crossed. I am sure some of you can relate with what I have been going through. The Dust, not being able to find things, and just not sleeping in my own bed for months. It will feel good to be back to normal.

Remember this picture! Gosh I almost forgot what the old bathroom looked like. Wait till you see it finished. It will be a huge improvement!!!

A little update on what I have been working on in the studio. Well I have several things in progress. More things for Ebay, Etsy and I am working on new items for SpookyTimeJingle. I should have some new items for sale in a few weeks. STJ updates on the 13th of every month. So look for new items from me and many more wonderful artist's. This month we will have several new artist's joining the group. Plus we will be feature in an ad in the back of Somerset Holidays and Celebrations Magazine. I am so excited. The issue will come out on September 1.

So don't give up on me yet. I will be back soon enough will new posts and new updates soon. I hope you are all enjoying your summer. Before you know it the kids will be back to school. It feels like this summer has gone so fast. I am not ready for it to be over. But I have to admit fall is my favorite time of the year. I am a sweater and sweatshirt kind of girl. I have to confess I don't wear shorts.

Spending the week at camp!

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you all had such a wonderful 4th of July. Mine was great! I got a chance to sit and relax and do nothing. But of course I can't do that all the time. I did take a few things to work on. I got quite a bit done. Everyone likes to sleep in but not me. That is a perfect time to craft and get things done.

There was a total of 17 of us. It is always such a great time when we get together. We definitely do our share of laughing and story telling about old times. I love to do that. We use to get together all the time when our kids were all little but not so much now. Our kids are having kids so things have changed a bit.

This is a picture of an entrance to someone's house on the way to camp. I just love this fence. I would love to have that in my yard. But there is only one problem. I need the property to go along with it.
It looks old to me. It sure has lots of character!

My brother-in-law and sister-in-law have this beautiful boat. When they come up to camp they always bring their boat and spend the day on the lake. This is a picture of my little Megs skiing! The closest I got to the water was me dangling my feet over the back of the boat. I use to ski years ago but I was a little worried about trying it now.

Look at that bother-in-law go. He is the best skier. I took a ton of pictures of him in the water. But this is the only one that turned out. It is so hard to take a picture of someone moving and even harder when they are in the water.

There are these tiny waterfalls going down the mountain right by the lake. I thought it was pretty. So I took a picture of one of them.

On the was home I couldn't believe it. Here is a Mommy duck walking her children across the street. It was the cutest thing. I tired to get them in the beginning but I couldn't get to my camera quick enough.

Happy 4th of July!!!

Due to recent events in my life, this is how I came up with my latest Halloween creation. I am calling this piece the Graveyard Asylum. These crazy Halloween guys are having a Party at the Nut House. Notice most are wearing their favorite party hats.

It's still a work in progress. Just a few more details and I will be done.

I am sure you all are aware of how my past weekend went. Not good. Christmas could not of come at a better time. Today was a wonderful day. I received the most absolute fabulous Halloween painting in the world. Laurie Hardin and I crossed paths several weeks ago. She emailed me with a problem she was having with her papier mache. The email was pretty detailed about all the problems she was having. At the end of the email she left her phone number. I thought it would be much easier to just call her and try to help her over the phone than to try to email back and fourth. I honestly didn't think twice about calling. I saw the number after reading the email and called her right away. We spoke for some time on the phone. It ended up that she uses a different product that I do. So I don't really know how much help I truly was at that time. But she seemed like a really nice person. Our conversation just flowed like we had known each other for years. Laurie is truly one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met. To think of mailing me a wonderful gift for something that I really didn't even think twice about truly shows what kind of person this women is.

I am so excited about my painting. Just look at what I got. Yep! Little oh me!! Can you guys believe it. It is Christmas in June.

Laurie I can't thank you enough. My mouth just dropped open with such excitement. He is wonderful. I love love love love him!!!!!! I can't thank you enough. You truly didn't need to do that. I was just so glad that any little bit of advise I could give would lead you in the right direction. It seems that your blog has taken off. You are getting to know alot of wonderful artists and bloggers. They are all kind and are always willing to help.

If I could reach you I would give you a big hug and a kiss. I really mean that. I can't thank you enough again. I have the perfect spot for my new painting. Oh my gosh I am so excited I have a Laurie Hardin Painting. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take me to the Nut House!!!!

Hey guys! Yesterday I had the day from H**l!!! If you want to know what it sounds like when someone is in the middle of a nervous breakdown just ask Dani from Ambitions Design. She was the lucky one that got to experience something like that first handed. Dani had just called right in the middle of my catastrophe. I have to apologize to her for my behavior. I should of known better than to answer the phone. But oh well to late now.

O.k. now you ask what happened. Here it goes! Some of you might know that my husband and I are in the middle of a master bath and master bedroom remodel. It has been a long road but I am getting an opportunity to practice my patient skills. My husband had just finished putting up all the dry wall and did all the sceme coating. Next step is the sanding process. I was a little concerned before he even started the sanding cause I know what that entails, "Alot of Dust". Because my husband knows how I am and that I am kind of a neat freak when it comes to stuff like that, he thought he would rent a commercial sander from Home Depot. This type of sander had a vacuum attached to the hose. I thought this is perfect. It will cut down on all the dust. YEAH!

So my hubby hooked up the machine, got his trusty goggles, mask and eye protection on. I thought well I am going to leave and go downstairs. I still thought even though it had a vacuum on it that it would still make some dust and I didn't want to deal with that. I am so glad he thought of shutting all the doors to all the bedrooms and bathroom. Next he added a towel just below the door just in case any dust decided to escape. (Ha! Ha! That didn't help!) I heard him turn on and off the machine a couple of times. I then started to get into some crafting that I had been working on. About 45 minutes later I thought I would go and check on the progress. When I opened the basement door, my heart sank. I knew what happened. There was a cloud, and I mean cloud of dust all over the main floor. It was like it was snowing but without the flakes. I ran upstairs and my husband in a paniced voice said don't open the door. I asked him what happened. Well he proceeded to tell me in not so many choice words that the sander wasn't working properly and he didn't know it until now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These are pictures of my bedroom. Thank goodness for plastic. That plastic was clear.

This is when I started to have my mini breakdown. I went down stairs and as I started to let the dust settle I finally realized what I had in store for myself and him to for that matter. I am the type of person that likes alot of stuff in her home. I started to walk around the house and everywhere and I mean everywhere there was dust. I immediately started to clean and I started to cry. I have a chronic neck problem and early stages of carpel tunnel. I knew that this wasn't going to be good.

These are pictures of the main floor. You can see the dust on my dining room table and you can even see exactly where the rug was sitting on top. Now look at the hardwood floors. The dust was so thick you could see my footprints! Just above that is my dust angel I tried to make. It's there but you can't see it very clearly.

JUST IMAGINE! LOOK AROUND YOUR HOUSE. NOW EVERYTHING YOU SEE NEEDS EITHER WIPED OFF, DUSTED OR VACUUMED AND I TRULY MEAN EVERYTHING, "HELPME"!!!!

Just in the middle of my cleaning frenzy the phone rang. It was Dani! I being as upset as I was should not of answered the phone! But for some reason I did. I know I wasn't very friendly. The person on the other end said, "May I speak to Kim please". I said, "WHO IS IT!" Poor Dani! I am so sorry you got stuck in the middle of this mess. I think we were both caught off guard. But believe it or not she calmed my nerves.

So just remember never answer the phone in the middle of a mini breakdown. You never know who just might be calling at that point and time.

This whole experience has inspired my next creation. It will be a papier mache house. I will be calling it something like, "The Haunted NUT House." It takes a nut case to be able to think of something like this. I hope to get cracking on this soon. But I have more dust to clean up. I think I will have dust in my teeth for months.

What is an ACEO you ask? It stands for Artist's Cards Editions and Originals. It was started so that people like you and me can purchase affordable pieces of art. They are to be traded, collected and even shared amoung your friends. Some of these are one of kind pieces of art by artist's. They are painted on 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 chipboard cards.

I decided to make my own ACEO cards. I thought it would be fun to make a series of Halloween cards. These I am calling:

The day has finally come. I have just opened my Etsy store. So stop over and take a peek at all the goodies I have listed for sale.

If you love Halloween. You must go over to the store. I tried to create a variey of things for you to choose from. I have been working for week to get a larger inventory. I have sold some things already. Maybe you might find something for yourself.

What I did over the weekend!

This past weekend I spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday up in Warren Pennsylvania at our family cabin. I thought I would share some of the beautiful country side with you guys.

I brought my friend Lisa this time. It was her first time to visit the camp. We decided to spend a day full of nature walks and site seeing. This picture is of the Kinzua Dam. I am standing at an over look.
So then we decided to take a drive over to Rimrock. I just love it there. It is a great place to be one with nature. We started out walking through the woods on this nature trail. The picture you see below is a pathway through these huge boulders. If you are claustrophobic, don't attempt this. It is very tight.
At the bottom of the steps there was this little frog just waiting for us to say hello. He wasn't even shy to have his picture taken.
I was the one walking down the stairs first and then Lisa followed. When I got to the bottom, I was to busy looking at Mr. Toad. Lisa said I almost stepped on this cute little snake, she didn't call him cute. I use to play with snakes when I was little. But spiders are a different story. YUK! It was a little hard to get a good picture. He was all over the place. He had a little stripe around his neck. I think he was harmless?! At least I hope so. I was about to pick him up. But I thought I better not.
After we got to the bottom of the steps there were all these huge rocks every where. It was the coolest thing. We walked all through there. It was great.
I loved this spot. If you stand right in front of these two rocks you get a huge gust of cold air coming through these rocks. It was like a natural air conditioner.
There was even a little bench for old people like me that had to take a rest from all that rock climbing.

One more spot I took Lisa was another nature walk. This one has this tiny waterfall. I wasn't to keen on walking in this area. It was a little scary trying to get down this steep trail to get a good picture of this waterfall.

Finally we ended the trip at the dam. I took pictures of these huge fish. People stand at the top of the dam and throw bread down to them. They are like a bunch of vultures.
We had the best time. It was suppose to be 8 girls and me. But in the long run between cars breaking down, flat tires, a daughters recital and another daughters birthday it ended up just being my Best Friend and Me.

We worked on a 1000 piece puzzle. We almost finished but not quit.

So being that it was just the two of us it didn't matter. We still made the best of it. We had a ball anyway. But we can't wait to do it again.

Today I received yet another wonderful package in the mail. From another Homemade Etsy Artist. This one is from Dani of AmbitionsDesign.

Look at the way it came in the mail. The box had been stamped with this darling stamp all over.

Inside were two very colorful wrapped items. One was wrapped in some pretty cream chennile with a cute little tag. On the back of the tag it had all of Dani's contact information.

I unwrapped the first item. It was my painting. I was so tickled. I just love it. The colors are perfect for me. Pictures on line just don't do Art justice.

And the back was finished with hand made card from Dani.

In the other little package was a little surprise. I just loved the hot pink and black ribbon she tied the surprise up in.

Inside was a sweet little gift from Dani. It says, "Live Lovely". I just love it.

Again even the back was finished and signed!

O.k. here is my final resting stop for my beautiful painting. I love where it is. It is right beside my bullentin board in the my office area. I sit there all the time and do my paper work for my business. So I will have many opportunities to see it daily.

Spending the day with Sophia!

Yesterday I got to spend the day with my favorite little friend Sophia. We started out having lunch at McDonald's. Of course, she wanted to play first then eat.

Then after lunch we made a trip to Joann Fabric's to find a craft to make together. Little kids are so funny. I forget how they are when it comes to buying things. She had a hard time making her mind up. There are so many different little craft projects for kids. She finally made a decision. We ended up with a Foam crown with stickers to add and a Sponge Bob Sand Art Kit. We had so much fun. She is such a little sweety.

Thanks for spending the day with me Sophia. I can't wait to do it again.

First Impressions are lasting impressions!!!

Today I received an item I purchased off of Etsy! What a surprise, delight and boy was I filled with joy. Hence the designer Suz from "Surprise delight joy". From the time I opened my mail box, it just kept getting better and better.

The Outside of the package was decorated so cute. I love the way she used a cut out letter for the first letter in my name. And not to mention a witches hat! Darling!
Home made designers that sell know how important it is to support the homemade art. There is so much folk art out there that is mass produced. Not the same for sure!! This was a great idea to attach the labels to the outside of the box. It caught my eye first thing.

Delight

The box just wasn't any ordinary box.

The tissue was folded with such perfection. I just couldn't keep my eyes off how pretty her presentation was. I was afraid to open it. I didn't want to mess it up. You would of laughed if you saw me. I opened it so slow like it was so fragile.

Here comes the Joy part

Opening the box made such an impact. The first thing I saw was something I hadn't bought. It was a darling little pumpkin pin. So Sweet!!!!

Underneath was my goodie. The item I purchased. It was resting on a bunch of shredded Halloween paper. I just love my Halloween pin. It says, "Magical"!
So so cute. Way cuter in person!

Even the back of the pin was finished. Some artist's just go that extra mile with their art that they sale. You can definetly tell she takes alot of pride in her work and how she represents her product.

Finally the end!

Such to my delight, my little pumpkin pin was attached to the cutest card. It had pictures of Suz Art and all the ways you can find her. I adore this idea!

Suz made my experince buying from her such a pleasure. The thing about it is you never know what you are going to get in the mail when you buy something on line. It's not like you are standing in a store, holding the item and get to look at it up close. Sometimes I feel you take a chance. But take a chance with Suz you will not be disappointed!!

Garden! Garden! Wherefore Art Thou!

I know everyone is getting in the gardening mode with all this nice weather we are having. I love to garden myself. When I use to live in Pennsylvania 5 years ago, my husband made this beautiful fenced in garden for me. I use to work nights at my old job so this was perfect for me. I got to express my creativity and passion for gardening while the kids were at school.

This was at the beginning stages! Approx. 10 years ago. Oh how it developed and evolved over time!

Those big bird houses I took with me when I moved.

That Arbor used to bloom the most beautiful pink little roses!
It was always like Christmas at the beginning of the season. I couldn't wait to get out there and get my hands dirty. There is something about a flower and the thought that you had something to do with it blooming.
There were six different beds. It started out as 4 beds and then a few years later we added two more and connected to the house. I always loved the way it looked from the road when you drove by.
These are pictures of the last year before we moved. I didn't get to spend much time in it that year because of all the packing. So the weeds started to take over that year. For some reason I can't find any pictures of it in it's glory. But you can get the idea.

So currently at the house we live at now, we have not even touch the outside. We have focused all out energies on remodeling the inside. But we are coming to and end I do believe. So the opportunity for the beginnings of a garden is in my near future.

Oh how I miss that garden. I just hope the new home owners appreciate all the hours and hours I spent making it such a beautiful place to be.

Who is 82 Today?

Today is my mom's sisters birthday. She is 82 years young. She walks 3 miles everyday and is a recovering cancer survivor. She is never to far from a book in hand. I can't believe you haven't changed a bit. Whatever you are doing you are doing something right!

I love you Aunt Sis!!! I am looking forward to many more celebrations to come!
